ColorCutters® are easy to use ONCE YOU KNOW HOW. This document will give you the basic knowledge you need to begin CUTTING AND COLORING like a pro.

Activate the Blade (First Time Use Only)
First you must activate the blade. To Activate the Blade place a piece of paper on a cutting mat, like a ColorCutter® Married® Mat, and poke the tip of the ColorCutter® into the paper and mat. Do this so the ColorCutter® is about perpendicular to the paper. Now firmly score the paper several times by pulling back. You will see and feel the ColorCutter® begin to cut the paper. Once you do this the blade has been activated.

If You Can't Get ColorCutter® To Cut
If you attempted to activate the blade but do not feel it cutting here are some things you should try.

Look at the image on the side of the ColorCutter®. It shows the correct angle to hold a ColorCutter® to use it in COLOR & CUT Mode or COLOR MODE which does not cut. Some people try to use the ColorCutter® in the wrong mode or at the wrong angle and find it simply will not work for them. Change your angle of use and you will find ColorCutters® cut smoothly and with ease.

To Cut Curves
ColorCutters® MUST be used like an X-Acto® Knife which also only cuts when you pull it back. When cutting curves you must rotate the barrel to allow the blade to be in line with the curve. This means if you are making a circle in a sheet of paper you must rotate the ColorCutter® so its tip is always pointing in the direction you are cutting.

Tip Pushed Down into Barrel
If you accidentally push the nib into the barrel do not worry. Simply pull the tip out, with a pair of needle nose pliers, until you feel it click into place. Then push the blade so it is flush against the barrel. You are now ready to use your ColorCutter®.

Storing ColorCutter® - always cap ColorCutter® and store in the
horizontal position.

Smoovy™ - Hold int he same position as ColorCutter®. This tool only
cuts, there is no ink.

ILLUMA™ - The ink in ILLUMA™ goes on dull but as it dries, in
approximately 30 seconds, turns vibrant on dark and light papers and photos.
